Dalton QP22 Series are a fully adjustable flyweight kit for the Polaris Boost and 9R models with the P-22 primary clutch. These weights were designed as a high-quality billet steel set that has more adjustment than earlier adjustable versions, allowing performance shops and pro racers to fine tune for their specific applications.
These new weights will, of course, incorporate the original “Dalton Quick Adjust” method that allows you to easily make fine tuning gram adjustments without even removing the flyweights from the drive clutch.
(note: for some 9R models that have a new updated billet spider, the Quick Adjust passage may not be able to be adjusted without removing the belt. The clutch sheave will have to be moved inward slightly because the new billet spider comes partially over the Quick Adjust hole in the flyweight when the vehicle is at rest.)
The “Quick Adjust” passage allows you to add or subtract grams from the flyweight through the entry point at the heel by use of the supplied T-handle Allen wrench.
There is also independent threaded adjustment for the tip weight. The tip weight adjustment can be effective at changing both the total mass, and the location of mass on the flyweight.
This new design has some built in heel type mass, and these models have a wider top design that allows for better belt grip as well as better wear resistance on the roller surface.
There are many combinations of added fasteners that add to the base weight to allow fine adjustment to the “total grams”, as well as different “placement of mass” combinations.
The Threaded “Quick adjust passage”, as well as the “threaded tip hole” both have a bottom.
Even when using the smaller black “set screws” in the tip they will come to a stop and you should bottom them out.
The different base weights available should fill the needs of most applications. Each base weight can have up to 8.5 grams added allowing plenty of fine tuning adjustment, and allows for easy tuning in different forms (EG: tip heavy or heel heavy configurations).

These are only notes and based on early feedback. Different clutch recipes in both clutches, as well as gearing, HP, etc. can alter the grams required.
FAQ: What grams do I need?
Answer: Some long track Boost models (RMK, etc.) come from factory with 78g, others and some overseas versions come with 81g, and some low level come with 84g. Some 900R mountain versions come with 72g. Different models come with different gearing and clutching. Check with the factory to determine what grams your particular model comes with. Up to 8.5 grams can be added to the base weight you choose.
FAQ: Does Dalton offer a “set up guide” for different applications?
Answer: No. This flyweight set is, as the name suggests, a Tuner Kit as described above. Dalton Industries does not offer “Clutch kits” or model specific set up suggestions, rather we supply individual tuning components to companies that do that, or people who do their own tuning. However, you may have received this kit as part of a package from, or on the recommended weight grams from a shop or provider of performance mods. They may have specific settings for your application.
